Jargon is the language of grocery and it takes a long time to get used to all the acronyms and words that don't mean what they usually mean. When you’re just starting out its easy to get lost and overwhelmed especially when it comes to filling out retailer documentation, trying to navigate their websites and work out your GS1 from DSD, DC and SKU.

So below is a starting list of acronyms you just might come across…

U is for Units, ullage and UPC

V is for Velocity, volume and vendors

W is for Wholesaler, WTD, wing displays, warehouses

X is for Xero

Y is for YTD, YTG

Z is for Z-code
